Avast game mode is a feature which optimizes your computer’s configurations to allow you to play games. It mutes notifications and stops updates to allow you to focus on the game. Additionally, it adjusts settings on your PC to prioritize gaming over other programs that could take up your CPU and cause performance degradation.
You need a lot of resources to play games, like RAM MEMORY, CPU, and GPU. Other programs or recording processes could divert these resources from your gaming program, causing it to slow down or crash. Avast’s game mode allows users to focus on video games by temporarily shutting off background activities and alerting you of any possible interruptions.
It also reduces the impact on your gaming performance when you run antivirus scans and upgrades by stopping and detecting these to avoid interruptions. This is an advantage for gamers who do not want to lose their gaming for maintenance or to be infected by a virus.
To enable avast’s game mode start the antivirus program and click on the menu button in the upper-right corner of the Windows taskbar. You can then choose „Settings” and turn the switch next to Enable Game Mode to on. A special icon will appear on the system tray when Game Mode is enabled.
You can also access an exclusive page within the Avast Homepage software to add specific programs to the list and automatically switch them into Game Mode whenever you play them. You might also want to disable the game mode feature of Avast at some point because of one of the many reasons. It is easy to do this through the Avast user interface, and we’ll show you how in this article.
